Love hearts praying

corinthians love, 1 cor 13, the love verses

I expected some things from blogging. I expected that I’d spend hours and hours writing stuff. I figured not many people would read at first. I figured it would take a least a few days to build up to two or three thousand readers a day 🙂

I knew there were two sides to my brain – the Bible know-y and practice-y side – and the Love side. I’ve always liked the way they went together – but also were different.

Kind of like a marriage.

So, silly me, began two blogs, for which I post a total of 10 and maybe more posts a week. And take about 3 or 4 or sometimes 5 hours on each post.

With Deep into Scripture it’s translating and studying and praying and then writing – and takes more time. And the pictures? Finding just the perfect ones and laying them out just so – that takes lots more time than I’d like to admit.

But you know, Love is actually the scary blog . I mean, who can write a blog forever on just three three little verses of the Bible?

I can never run out of subject material on the other blog. But this one? This one is the creative challenge. This one spins my head.

Not to worry. I’ve had love running around my brain for 25 years – Corinthians love. It’s been my big thing. So there are veritable oodles of material.

But capturing Love ideas is like herding kittens. They’re squirmy little things – with claws – and they like to run free. The job is having to lasso them one at a time and write about them.

The Bible is easy – it’s already pre-herded.

So I had some expectations going in.

What I didn’t expect has been a really nice – and absolutely astounding surprise.

I really like you guys.

I really care.

It kind of tears me up.

I’m actually teary right now, just typing,

and I’m smiling too.

I really can’t thank you enough for reading.

And I think I have the best people on the whole internets reading me.

And I heart reading you guys too.

There’s just a lot of love – and – well – thank you.

That one I didn’t see coming.

And in the last couple of months I’ve written posts where I promised to pray for you guys, “top of every hour”. I’ll admit that I missed some hours – too many. But that responsibility I’ve taken very seriously. And honestly I’ve prayed most of the “top of every” hours.

It’s like a prayer-palooza 🙂

Just this last weekend I was praying all the time.

And here’s the big surprise from that.

I really hearted the praying! I smiled every time I prayed for you all.

I was praying about the severities in your life,

and how I wanted Our Lord to protect you,

and to help you see the beauty in the severity,

and that you have wisdom to choose your actions wisely in it,

and courage to advance into it, and not run away,

and it made me happy.

It really did.

And I totally didn’t see that coming.

Many of you know I’ve named this year “connecting”. I’ve prayed more about other people in the last 4 months then ever.

So with all the praying, and the joy that’s sprung from it, I thought I’d like to share with you guys some stuff about prayer.

I’ve always known that love prays.

But it’s more than that.

There’s stuff I’ve learned.

And I want to write about prayer for a little if you guys don’t mind.

OK?

In God’s Love.

OK!
It’s been good getting to know you. I first ‘met’ you on Loralee’s blog and your comments caught my interest. I guess God knew what He was doing when I clicked over and you are now in my favourites (both blogs).
So, I’m ready to read your thoughts on prayer.

I heart Loralee – she is so real – and just the same in person – a lioness of a mom – and talented and funny!! I have so enjoyed having you here all this time Michelle. Thank you for your kind words – your comments are a treat every time – and as always, God Bless you.

My favorites from your blog today, Craig:

The Bible is……pre-herded. What a riot!

This second one is resolutely serious, you prayed:

to help [me] see the beauty in the severity,

and that [I’d] have wisdom to choose [my] actions wisely in it,

and courage to advance into it, and not run away,

Thank you. I am claiming these as my own!

I think I’m learning some important things about praying for others Dawn – Our Lord is teaching me things. And I did pray all those things – I just did it now – for you – it took all of about 20 seconds – it doesn’t take much to pray for others – and I think God really likes it when we have each other’s back.:) Thank you Dawn – and God Bless.

Love prays..yes, Deb and Craig,….that is the take-away…in a manageable bite. (my brain and life seriously needs those sometimes!)

I, too, smiled hugely at the description of Love ideas as squirmy kittens, and the bible as pre-herded…I heart your unique gift of expression!!!!

Craig, I heart both your blogs, but this is the one that especially helps me as I wade back into the pain each day, in my hip boots, learning to focus on sharing love with other flood victims rather than dwelling on my own deep waters. So glad you corral a kitten daily for us!

Thank you A – it’s not a lack of kittens – it’s the coralling – that’s the thing. The Bible is easy line after line – so much structure – Love is all ball of yarn-y. God Bless you A. and thank you.

Go for it Craig. Love and prayer go together like kittens and string.

Our friendship has been built on the foundation of love and prayer. That’s why it has lasted these years. Did you get my e-mail which brings you current?

I look forward to your blogs on prayer. Blessings.

Sign me up! I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about prayer. Your post today was just too good. Twittering with God I can do. The Lord’s Prayer I can do. Just never thought of it as twittering before. It makes me smile big time!!!!!

Cora, I’m delighted to have you read my words. The Lord’s prayer part? That’s more like facebook updates – or blogging. The chit chat with God? That’s all about the tweet 🙂

God bless – and thank you so much.
