Love imparts wings to prayer…

by Craig on February 21, 2012

beyond horizon’s concealment

pawing through hinterlands of black

light strives to be seen

source

before  light breaks

spirit ascends

knees to earth

heart unbound

source

words…or just thoughts…cascade upward to heaven

uncloaked, unasked, unveiled…

to keep secrets from One who knows all…

not possible.

beseeching, entreating, adjuring

indebtedness acknowledged

emplaced aside sovereignty

lain softly

as a flutter

upon a pillow

full of Grace

forger of this body

occasioner of my soul

attend to this existence

my hunger never absent

yearning of my blood

longing, thirsting, wishing

to be

a vessel

Of. Your. Love.

source

all notions reflecting

conceptions, decisions, possessions,

accrue

heart seeking heart

to only please…

You

neither able nor strong

nor intrepid, nor sage

source

You directing the opus

Me hiding backstage

A wish,

an aim,

For eyes beholding further

Arms held higher

Sturdy hands

Noble thoughts

from the very beginning…

my highest desire

a heart steadfastly directed

devoted to you

intently inclined,

determined

unwavering,

faithful,

true

amen

*beautiful*, Craig, and i will openly admit that you used some words in sequence that have me a little baffled…i will have to think on this deeply to understand some of it, but my coffee hasn’t kicked in yet 😉 i love it when writers use words that make me look it up in order to learn something new.

if you can cause someone to think deeper and analyze, then you know you are a good poet!

I KNOW – those “words in sequence” – they may be a little too poetic – but when I look back at them, and read it slowly, I get why I wrote it that way. and I’ve said this often before – I don’t write poetry often – poetry is very mean to me – it takes too much effort – prose is much easier – and friendlier for my brain – if not as poetic (ˆ◡ˆ) God bless you Nacole.

Tammi, first of all, I’m sorry it took so long for me to reply to your comment. You got caught in my spam catcher, and I didn’t clear it out till today – luckily I looked before removing all of the spam – because YOU are not spam. Sorry!

Secondly, thank you for your kind words, I’m really not a poet – I’m a prose guy – poetry takes way too much for each word, for each syllable, prose is easy (◕‿◕)

and last, it makes me smile you came here, and read, and commented, thank you – and God bless and keep you and each and every one of yours!

as I’ve said often, and just the other day to Nacole, a couple of comments above yours, I don’t write poetry often – poetry is very mean to me – it takes too much effort – takes too much out of me – so much poured into each word – each syllable – I assume for a real poet it’s easier – but prose is much easier – and friendlier for my brain – if not as poetic (ˆ◡ˆ) anyway, thank you Linda, thank you very much, and God bless and keep you this day!
